Q. We are building a house and would like to know what is the better brand of furnace and air conditioner? Bryant, Train, ect. Also what should it cost to install heat and air in a 1800 sq foot new construction home. We have 1800 sq feet upstairs and a walk out basement (1800 sq ft) that will also need heat, no air. We purchased a York CH/A about 4 months ago... the ducts and outside unit were already established, so I can't really be of any help to you on that note, but I can tell you that the install and cost of the inside unit without the rest ran us $3,500 and we have a 1700 sq. ft one story home, and we purchased the one with the 97% eff. rate.. We love it.. it is quiet, and keeps our home comfortable.. andthe sevice man, informed us that it is one of the most requested around our area, due to the eff. rate, the great feedback, and the rare need for repairs... they haven't had any compliants, and we are also another satisfied customer.
