What shampoo and conditioner would you recommend for a person with thick hair?
Q. My hair is really really think and I have a lot of it. Everytime I get a hair cut, my hair gets puffier and it doesn't really look good anymore. What shampoo and conditioner would make my hair less puffy and nice? I don't like using any kind of flat irons of any sort so I just always depend on my daily shampoo and conditioner. Please help. And school is starting soon, so I don't want my hair to look like a mess.

What kind of shampoo and conditioner should my daughter use for her very thick and dense hair?
Q. My daughter has very beautiful, thick, dense hair, and as many of you can understand, it is quite difficult to take care of in terms of making it easier to brush and always look good. Sometimes it takes quite a while to brush out and remove the tangles, even when we use detangler or leave-in conditioner. I use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, but is that best? Also, what would be the best kind of brush to use? Should there be one for when her hair is wet and another for when her hair is dry?

A. I'm no expert but I also have thick hair. You should probably use a plastic hard-bristled brush when it's wet and a softer bristled brush when it's dry. Or maybe a wooden bristle brush that will distribute oils through her hair. I also recommend an anti-frizz serum. Even if her hair isn't frizzy it will really help the brush glide through her wet hair. Good luck.

What to look for when buying shampoo and conditioner?
Q. I'm not really sure what to look for when i'm buying shampoo and conditioner. I've been using palmer's olive oil shampoo and conditioner for a while now. I'm not sure if its doing anything for my hair. I've also used pantene relaxed and natural & Infusion. My hair is very thick and after it gets washed and air drys it becomes very puffy. Right now i wear my hair down and some strands are straight and some are wavy. What kind of shampoo and conditioner should i be looking for?

A. look for products without sulfates, waxes and silicones since they will dry out your hair. Or check out this link on how to wash your hair without using shampoo and stripping your hair of its natural oils.
